Then it was called Madharusa where Quran and Islamic studies were taught. In 1943, the school was rebuilt and more subjects such as Thajveed, Mathematics and Dhivehi Language were introduced. Later in 1960, the school building was upgraded and named ‘Maktabunnoor.’ For the first time, the school was registered under the Ministry of Education on 2nd June 1969 as ‘Madurasathunnoor.’.
